Chittorgarh: Five prisoners have escaped from Chittorgarh's district hospital's covid quarantine centre. The prisoners escaped by climbing on to the roof of the building around 4:30 am.
The hospital guard informed the higher officials following which Additional SP Himmat Singh Deol, Deputy Manish Sharma and Police Officer Darshan Singh reached the spot. The local authorities have immediately issued a blockade and have launched a manhunt to nab the prisoners.

According to information, Shri Sanwaliya Ji Rajkiya Samanya Chikitsalay has a centre, where prisoners are kept in quarantine before sending them to jail after a mandatory Covid test. Inmates of jail, who test positive are also lodged in the centre.

The five escaped prisoners have been identified as Umed Singh Rajput, Santosh Sharma, Mukesh alias Pappu, Sukrat and Ratanlal Jogi. All of them were arrested in different police stations in the city. They were in quarantine in the centre, waiting for their Covid-test reports before going to the jail.
This is not the first time prisoners have escaped from this facility. In 2020, two prisoners escaped by breaking the glass window of the centre. Both the prisoners were caught later by the authorities.
