Jaipur: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away today in Mumbai following a long battle with cancer. According to reports, Irrfan, 54 suffered from neuroendocrine tumour, which kept him away from Bollywood for over a year.
Irrfan Khan was born in Jaipur on January 7, 1966. His mother Saeeda Begum hailed from the Tonk Hakim family and his father Late Jagiradar Khan was from Khajuriya village near the Tonk district.
Irrfan Khan's relatives and friends in Rajasthan are grief-stricken after his untimely demise.
His uncle Dr Sajid Nissar shared that they both had a very cordial relation. He was also a theatre artist. "Irrfan brought laurels to his family and the country. His contribution towards the Indian cinema will never be forgotten," he added.
Irrfan's fans and neighbours were in shock after hearing the news of the demise of their favourite actor. They said that Irrfan Khan was loved by one and all. He used to meet everyone joyfully whenever he used to visit Jaipur.
"It is heart-breaking to know that Irrfan Khan is no longer with us. He was an outstanding actor and a very generous human being. We are deeply saddened by his demise," said one of his neighbour in Jaipur.
In early 2018, Irrfan had revealed his neuroendocrine tumour diagnosis. Irrfan Khan had penned a heartful letter revealing his rare condition. "Life is under no obligation to give us what we expect," Irrfan khan's message began with the words of Margaret Mitchell while revealing the diagnosis.
