Jaipur (Rajasthan) : A 9-year-old boy fell into a 300-foot deep borewell on Saturday morning while playing in Bhojpura village of Jobner police station area near Rajasthan's capital Jaipur. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the teams of Civil Defence and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) reached the spot and started the operation to rescue the child.
Teams from the Jobner police station have also reached the spot. According to the villagers, the borewell in Bhojpura village of Jobner has been lying closed for a long time. A stone was placed at the mouth of the borewell. On Saturday morning the children were playing in the field. While playing, the children removed the stone, due to which Akshit alias Lucky fell into the borewell. A prank by his friends might have led to the unfortunate incident, sources said.
As soon as the information about the child's fall into the borewell was received, a crowd of villagers gathered there. The child's voice was heard from deep inside the borewell. The incident is said to have happened at around 7 am on Saturday morning. Jobner SDM, Arun Kumar Jain, Tehsildar Pawan Chaudhary, DSP Mukesh Chaudhary and the police station in charge reached the spot as soon as the information about the case is received.

The borewell is said to be about 300 feet deep. Although the teams of Civil Defence and NDRF are making efforts to find out at what depth the boy is trapped inside the borewell. The rescue efforts are still continuing at the spot.
