Drunken resident doctor climbs on water tank in Jaipur; rescued

A drunken resident doctor associated with Jaipuria hospital climbed atop a water tank in Rajasthan's Jaipur on Tuesday. After an hour of struggle, the authority was able to convince the doctor and was taken down.

Jaipur (Rajasthan): After the government has relaxed the lockdown norms and started the sale of liquor, a drunken resident doctor (Intern doctor) climbed atop a water tank in Rajasthan's Jaipur on Tuesday.

The doctor, identified as Ravindra Singh, has been associated with Jaipuria hospital here.

The matter came into limelight after a constable Mukesh Mina, deployed at the hospital premises, saw a doctor surmounting on the tank top with a bottle of liquor.

Reacting on the incident, Meena immediately informed the higher authority about the drunken resident doctor.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the higher officials reached the spot with defence equipment and asked the doctor to come down.

After an hour of struggle, the authority was able to convince the doctor and was taken down.

Meanwhile, the resident doctor has been taken to the local police station and the reason for his act is yet to be ascertained.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday evening said that the nationwide lockdown will be extended by two more weeks after May 3. However, it said that certain activities like sale of liquor will be permitted in green zones.
