Cyber thugs are targeting the common man through various social networking sites by sending a link for vaccine registration. As soon as a person clicks on the link and fills all his personal information, it is immediately sold on the deep web to other hackers at a hefty price. Along with this, a fee is also charged through Paytm in the name of registration.

In this entire episode, the amount cheated is very less due to which people are not even filing a complaint with the police. But the number of people cheated is quite high due to which a huge amount has been deposited in the accounts of cyber thugs.

Process of cheating the people

Sending link asking personal information

Cybersecurity expert Ayush Bhardwaj said that in the name of registration of Corona vaccine, cyber thugs send a link of Google docs through various social networking sites to people. The link is shared by the government citing registration of the vaccine. As soon as the person clicks on that link, a form is generated in which all the personal information including that person's mobile number, Aadhaar card, PIN card is sought. As soon as a person writes all the private information and submits the form, then all his personal information is made public on the deep web.

Registration amount is sought through Paytm

Cybersecurity expert Ayush Bhardwaj told that after obtaining all the personal information in the name of registration, the person is asked to pay a fee for the registration of the vaccine. For this, a registration fee of 200 to 500 rupees per person is charged, which is said to be filled through Paytm.

Cyber thugs cheat people through Paytm as it has a non-reversible policy because of which the fraudulent amount cannot be recovered. In this way, thousands of people are made victims of fraud.

Here's how to protect yourself:

Check website domain before sharing personal information

Cybersecurity expert Ayush Bhardwaj said that all the schemes implemented by the government are shared for the public on the official website of the government. At the same time, the websites through which cyber thugs ask people to share personal information are fake or similar in name to the government website. Any legitimate government website will have .gov.in or .nic.in. in the end, whereas the websites through which people are asked to share personal information will have .com, .org, .net or .cn at the end of the domain of the website. By paying special attention to these things, people can avoid being a victim of fraud.

Do not make any payment through Paytm

Ayush Bhardwaj added that the cyber thugs are charging registration fees through Paytm from people for registration of Corona vaccine. On the other hand, no fee is being charged by the government.
