Jodhpur: The self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, 84, was admitted to a hospital after he tested coronavirus positive on Wednesday. He was shifted to the ICU ward after he complained of chest pain, restlessness, and other ailments.
The jail authority informed that he has been facing breathing difficulty and his SpO2 level is under 90.
Currently, he has been undergoing treatment at MDM hospital in Jodhpur.
Soon after his health report grabbed media attention, his followers started gathering near the hospital. However, the administration has deployed a large number of security personnel to avert any mischief.

Earlier in February this year, he was admitted to Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur after he complained of chest pain.
Asaram Bapu was accused of raping a minor girl in his ashram in the Manai area near Jodhpur on the night of August 15, 2013. He was found guilty of various charges, including sections 370(4) (trafficking), 342 (wrongful confinement), 354A (outraging modesty), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and some sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
He is serving life imprisonment in Jodhpur Central Jail in a rape case.
