Chittorgarh (Rajasthan): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an assistant traffic inspector and a conductor of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation for taking a bribe, police said.
Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB Vikram Singh said that one Ramesh Chandra had complained against the assistant traffic inspector, identified as Sheela Chawla, that she was asking for a bribe of Rs 6000 on monthly basis in order to allow to ply a bus on a certain route.
Chawla had already taken Rs 3000 from him and the remaining amount was to be taken on Friday, the Additional SP said.
He said a trap was laid and the two were caught red-handed accepting the amount of Rs 2500.
It is learnt that the assistant traffic inspector was involved in similar cases earlier also.
Further probe is on, he said.
