Jhalawad (Rajasthan): As many as 18 persons were critically injured in a road mishap on National Highway 52 at Asnawar police station area in Rajasthan's Jhalawad Tuesday evening.
While initially the injured persons were rushed to Asanavar Community Health Centre later, they were shifted to SRG Hospital in Jhalawar as their health condition deteriorated.
According to sources, the incident occurred this evening when the bus was on its way to Jodhpur from Bhopal, carrying over 30 passengers.
Suddenly the bus collided head-on with a car after the driver lost control over the vehicle and went on the wrong side of the road, leaving 18 critically injured.
The seriously injured people, including the bus driver, have been admitted to the SRG Hospital in Jhalawar and condition of some is said to be critical, sources said.
On being informed about the incident, a police team rushed to the spot, recovered the mangled vehicle and registered a road accident case. The road was blocked for several hours due to the accident, sources added.
