Fazilka (Punjab): Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal had a narrow escape on Tuesday, as workers of his party and the ruling Congress clashed in Punjab's Jalalabad.
Badal was accompanying Akali candidates for filing of nomination papers for the February 14 civic polls, when Congress workers allegedly surrounded them.
SADal alleged that the vehicle of Badal was pelted with stones when party workers were attacked by Congress members.
Four persons were injured in the incident at Jalalabad Tehsil complex. However, Badal was unhurt, SAD said.

Badal's media advisor Jangveer Singh alleged that Akali workers were attacked by the Congress workers led by the son of ruling party MLA Raminder Singh Awla.
Meanwhile, reports also suggested that there was stone-pelting and aerial firing during the clash. Both the parties have blamed each other for the stone-pelting.
Elections to eight municipal corporations and 109 municipal councils and nagar panchayats in Punjab will be held on February 14.
