Nabarangpur (Odisha): A seven-month pregnant nurse on COVID-19 frontline in Odisha's Nabarangpur has emerged as a shining example for selfless dedication to work.

Minakshi Suna, working as a staff nurse at Nabarangpur DHH, insisted on continuing to discharge her duty despite health officials' advising against it citing her advanced pregnancy and surfacing of fresh COVID-19 cases in the district.

Minakshi travels every day to Nabarangpur town to attend to the patients at the hospital.

"The District Headquarters Hospital is surrounded by many villages, people need our service. My seniors had asked me to take leave but I want to serve people. I work six hours a day," Minakshi said.

"Despite the fact that the staff nurses are being paid less salary compared to others, I have accepted my responsibility towards the patients as my sacred duty," she added.

Notably, Minakshi is one of the many frontline COVID-19 warriors who have been risking their lives to ensure that everyone stays safe as the country fights the coronavirus.
