Bhubaneswar: Odisha's COVID-19 tally mounted to 4,163 with 108 more people testing positive for coronavirus, a health department official said on Tuesday.
The new cases include 16 personnel of the Odisha Police Fire Service, who were placed under institutional quarantine upon their return from West Bengal following cyclone-restoration work, he added.
The number of disaster response personnel testing positive for the disease in the state has now increased to 174. The personnel of the NDRF, ODRAF and Fire Service contracted the virus in different phases, the official said.
The state capital reported five new cases, including an employee of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, he said.
Nine AIIMS employees, including doctors, had tested positive for the disease earlier this month.
Odisha has 1,175 active COVID-19 cases at present, while 2,974 patients have recovered. Eleven persons have died due to the contagion in the state.
Of the state's 30 districts, 15 have reported more than 100 coronavirus cases.
Four districts have cases in excess of 300 -- Ganjam (697), Cuttack (517), Khurda (369) and Jajpur (341), the official added. PTI
