Odisha: An eight-month pregnant sub-inspector in Mayurbhanj district here is performing her duties amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Mamata Mishra is deployed at the Betanati Police station and is one of the many corona warriors fighting for the country.
Odisha Police Director General Abhay, who visited Mayurbhanj on Tuesday, lauded Mamata's bravery on his Twitter handle.
"During my Mayurbhanj visit yesterday I met SI Mamta Mishra. This braveheart in eighth month of pregnancy insists on working. In view of her health, she is given duty at Betnoti PS and not on road or checkpoint. My compliments to her," his tweet read.
Mamata's sacrifice in this crucial situation is praiseworthy and setting an example for others.
The entire country is currently under lockdown in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hundreds of corona warriors, including those from the police department are playing a key role in fighting the virus.
