Kalahandi (Odisha): Netranand, the mentally challenged boy from Odisha who was reunited with his family after three long years with the help of ETV Bharat, finally returned home on Wednesday.
After being reunited with his brother-in-law in Hyderabad on June 25, Netranand finally returned to his village Mathura in Kalahandi district.
It was a heart-warming scene at Netranand's residence, as his mother could not contain her emotions on finally being reunited with her long-lost son.
Jubilant villagers swarmed their home and thanked ETV Bharat for their help.
After leaving home around three years ago in search of a job, Netranand moved from city to city, eventually finding himself stranded in Hyderabad 11 months back.
An NGO Matrudevobhava Anadh Ashram took care of him till he was finally in a position to recall details about his home and family.
ETV Bharat then carried a report about the boy's story, and his family instantly recognised him. They contacted ETV Bharat and got in touch with the NGO.
Helped by the police, who arranged for his travel, Netranand's brother-in-law came down to Hyderabad to finally take him back home.
