Bhubaneswar: Unlike the many lousy youngsters of the present generation, a village in Odisha is producing individuals resolved to protect their country.
The youngsters of the Ambakuduchi village in the Raghunathpur Panchayat of Balasore district, have resolved to enrol at least one member from every family of their village into the Armed forces.
Fifteen men from the village have joined the forces so far.
Now they are training younger men and women of the village to join the Army.
In order to keep the training process ongoing, at least one among the 15 men who joined the Army is always on a leave.
These fifteen men have become a source of inspiration for other young men and women of the village, especially for those who aspired to move to cities for getting private jobs.
The villagers too support them in every possible way while on the other hand, also run their families.
In return, their children receive training in march past, long jump, high jump, and other exercises required for enrolling in the Army.
This year, three new enrollments have occurred from the village into the defence forces, and the villagers are sure there are many more to join further.
The strong determination of the villagers for sending their sons and daughters into the Army has resulted in them crossing all the hurdles that they encounter on the way.
All the material required for training the youngsters is bought from the money that the villagers contribute.
An application has also been filed with the state government for help to carry forward the training program throughout the district and not just in Ambakuduchi village.
This small village in the state of Odisha where the younger generation dreams of serving their country is an inspiration for the rest of the country.
