Akola (Maharashtra): To protest the poor condition of roads in Akola city and district in Maharashtra, workers of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) on Thursday 'planted' lotuses in potholes.
VBA spokesperson Rajendra Patode alleged that there was corruption in road construction tenders.
Newly-built roads are dug up on some or other pretext within months, he said.
To protest the poor condition of roads, VBA workers planted lotuses in potholes, he added.
It is to be noted that Lotus is the election symbol of ruling BJP.
