Mumbai: At least three persons were held for allegedly trying to kill the son of a decorated former army officer at a pub in Mumbai.
Gurnihal Singh, the college-going son of a Shaurya Chakra awardee, Captain (retd) Bikramjit Singh, and his friend Saksham Jatia had a fight with a group of people at a pub located in the western suburb of Bandra in the early hours of Saturday.
Fight among the groups started after Jatia was punched by a man following which Gurnihal Singh and his friends intervened for his rescue. But, one of the attackers broke a liquor bottle and slashed Gurnihal Singh’s throat with it.
The incident caused serious injuries to Singh and he rushed to a hospital. According to the hospital sources, the condition of the victim stable now.
Bandra Police registered a case against the attackers with the charges of attempt to murder and other offenses.
