Nashik (Maharashtra): Despite repeated requests, Wockhardt hospital administration in Nashik allegedly refused to refund the cash deposit made by a Covid patient.
In protest against hospital authorities' stance, social activist and Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Jitendra Bhave protested and the authorities eventually refunded the amount. People gathered around him and the incident was streamed live on Facebook.

Amol Jadhav, a resident of Sinnar village in Nashik had deposited Rs 1.5 lakh in the hospital during the admission of his parents for Covid treatment. Later, Jadhav paid Rs 10 lakhs by availing insurance amount. When asked for refund, the authorities procrastinated it.

Jadhav sought the help of Bhave to get the money back. Bhave demanded the money and started protesting after hospital authorities refused.
Police arrested Bhave as social distancing norm was flouted during his protest. Bhave was released later after seven hours.
It is said that Jadhav who works for Rs 7,000 per month in a private company had borrowed money to pay the hospital bill.
