Aurangabad (Maharashtra): Two Corona-positive prisoners escaped from the COVID Care Center on Sunday night. They were being treated at the COVID Center in the city's Kile Arc. The escaped prisoners are Akram Khan Gayas Khan and Syed Saif Syed Asad. Both are inmates of the Harsul Prison.
On Saturday, 29 inmates of Aurangabad's Harsul jail tested positive for Coronavirus. The prisoners were kept in isolation at a COVID Center, a government dormitory in the city's Kile Arc, so that others would not be exposed to the virus.
But around midnight on Sunday, Akram Khan Gayas Khan and Syed Saif Syed Asad entered the second-floor bathroom, under the pretext of using the washroom. After going there, both of them removed the glass of the bathroom grill and fled from there.
At the time of the incident, police personnel were guarding the main gate of the jail.
No one noticed that these prisoners escaped though other patients were there in the building.
This has left everyone wondering. The two prisoners were spotted by some youths while fleeing and they had informed the police about it at that time. However, the police did not take it seriously.
A case has been registered with the Begumpura police on the complaint of the Prison's sub-inspector.
