Mumbai (Maharashtra): The ruling party Shiv Sena has made a blistering attack on Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for writing a letter to the state government to convene a special two-day session to discuss Sakinaka rape case.

In reply, Shiv Sena said that rape cases are increasing more in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and the governor should urge the central government to convene a special session for four days.

In its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Sena further said that Home Minister Shah had to call an emergency meeting of chief ministers due to the rise in Naxal attacks in several states. In states where BJP's opponents are in government, many BJP leaders are given 'Z+' security for only criticising the government, which is visible in states like West Bengal, Maharashtra etc.

"Hundreds of CRPF jawans are deployed for the security of these leaders when they (CRPF) should be deployed for the safety of the people and for anti-nation forces," Sena said.

Elaborating further, Sena said that the law and order situation in the country is not good. In Prayagraj, Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj was forced to commit suicide.

Whether it is suicide or murder is yet to be ascertained, but the suspicious death of such a great saint seems to be evidence of the deteriorating state of law and order and this issue should be discussed by convening a special session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for two-four days.

"A minor girl was gang-raped in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh and now her family is also being threatened. Are these the signs of good law and order? Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is concerned about the exploitation of women, law and order in our state, why should the governors of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh not have the same concern? Or is the sentiment of the Raj Bhavan there dead?" Sena questioned.

"The Mahila Mandal of BJP in Maharashtra is so aggressive about the injustice-atrocities on women that they camp in the Raj Bhavan for justice. Should not they feel sorry for not having such an aware Mahila Mandal in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh? What is the difference between the incident of sexual assault in Sakinaka and Rewa district?" it further said.

It further stated that women were killed in both incidents, but the uproar happened only in Maharashtra.
