Mumbai: The 'dabbawalas' of Mumbai are on two-days off from their services as they will visit the annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur on the occasion of ‘Ashadhi Ekadashi’.
President of Mumbai Dabbawala Association, Subhash Talekar said, "The tiffin services will stop on 12th and 13th July."
Working People of Mumbai heavily dependent on this service but as this occasion is very auspicious for Mumbai’s Dabbawalas they visit Pandharpur every year.
'Ashadhi Ekadashi’ is said to be the World’s largest and oldest people's movement where people gather on a specific day every year and perform a walk of a distance of around 250 km.
This occasion has been honoured by World Book of Records, London under the title ‘One of the Most visited places in a day’.
