Mumbai: Woman jumps off highrise after pushing son off 12th floor

A day after a woman pushed her son off the 12th floor of the Tulipia building and then jumped to her death in Mumbai, police arrested a man whose name was mentioned in the suicide note for abetment to suicide.

Mumbai: A woman pushed her son off the 12th floor of a residential building and then jumped to her death in Chandivali in Mumbai's Saki Naka area. A person named in her suicide note has been taken into custody on Tuesday for abetment to suicide, police said. Reshma Trenchil had thrown her 10-year-old son from the 12th floor of Tulipia building, where she has a flat, and then jumped to death on Monday, an official said.

In her suicide note, she held Ayub Khan, Shahnaz Khan and Shadab Khan responsible for her extreme step. According to police, the three men were living in a flat on the 11th floor of the building and were constantly complaining against her, mainly over the noise emanating from her flat on the 12th floor, to the housing society management as well as the local police station. Based on the suicide note, police have arrested Shadab Khan.

Sources informed that Reshma's husband died of Covid recently and she was forced to commit suicide after her neighbours started troubling her. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
