Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Islamic organization Raza Academy on Thursday staged a protest against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after they allowed the building of cinema halls and entertainment centers in the city of Madina.
Holding the placards of "Close cinema halls in Madina" protesters raised anti-Saudi slogans near the Minara Mosque in Mumbai.
Maulana Khalil Nouri, a member of the Raza Academy said, "We oppose the Saudi government's policy, which is against Sharia law and resembles Jewish policies."
"We demand the Saudi government to refrain from these illegal acts and take back their decision of building cinema halls in the holy city of Madina. They are doing this under the influence of Jewish and America. If they will not listen to our demands, then we will stage a nationwide protest.

Under the Vision 2030 plan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allowed the building of cinema halls and entertainment centers in the city of Madina. This decision is a part of a strategic framework to reduce the dependence of the country on oil and diversify it to other sectors such as health, education, recreation, and tourism. However, the decision is being opposed by fundamentalist Muslims across the world, especially in India and Pakistan.
