Similar incident during lockdown
On 8 August 2020, when a man shared some videos on Facebook regarding suicide, a video monitor at a Facebook office in Ireland became suspicious. They immediately informed the Delhi Cyber Police that he was giving the IP address and registered mobile number of the person concerned. Delhi Police launched an investigation into the matter and found the number was registered in the name of a woman from Delhi.
Then they reached the address of the mobile number. However, at the time, the woman said that although her mobile number was hers, her husband was using the Facebook account on that number. The woman's husband is in Mumbai and the woman did not know his address in Mumbai.

Life saved by tracking location
After the Delhi Police informed the DCP of the Mumbai Police Cyber Division, Rashmi Karandikar, the Mumbai Police started searching for the man.
Initially, there was no information about the man, so the police used the mobile number to talk to the wife of the man who was trying to commit suicide. Meanwhile, an officer of the Mumbai Cyber Police Department was listening to the phone conversation between the two through a conference. It was later learned that the person's mobile location was in Bhayander.
The man was then saved from committing suicide by sending local police to the spot.
