Mumbai: A massive fire broke at Saibaba Path Sankul School in the Kala Chowki area on Monday. Fire tenders reached the spot and the fire has been extinguished.
As per investigation report, a cylinder explosion caused the fire. The school is under the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai in Kalachowki. The school has been lying shut for the last three years. The school was used during the Covid period for keeping oxygen cylinders.
As soon as the news spread, four vehicles of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation's fire brigade reached the spot and the fire brigade personnel extinguished the fire.
Local MLA Ajay Choudhary who rushed to the spot, said, "We repeatedly appealed to the Municipal Corporation to start schools but to no avail. The Nawakhali Sadarchi School has been closed due to redevelopment."
