Maharashtra: Vehicle falls into Toranmal Ghat, 8 dead, more than 15 passengers reported injured

Eight labourers lost their lives while more than 15 passengers were reported injured after a vehicle fell into the Toranmal ghat at Nandurbar in Maharashtra. This is the second biggest accident on this road in the last six months.

Nandurbar: A private cruiser carrying passengers, on Sunday, fell into the Sindidigar Ghat, a remote part of Toranmal valley in the district. Preliminary reports indicate that eight people were killed in the accident and more than 15 passengers were injured. Victims are being evacuated from the valley with the help of local villagers.

The death toll is expected to rise.

This is the second big accident on this road in the last six months.

The police administration is conducting a rescue operation with the help of locals and the injured are being shifted to a rural hospital in Toranmal, Mhaswad. While several officers from the district headquarters, including the Superintendent of Police, have been dispatched to the spot, the administration has not yet provided any information on the matter.
