Palghar: An earthquake of 3.5 magnitude hit Maharashtra's Palghar district on Monday morning but there was no report of any casualty or damage to property, an official said.
The earthquake was experienced at 8.07 am in Paraswadi area of Dahanu taluka, district disaster control cell chief Vivekanand Kadam said. Last week, four mild earthquakes were recorded in the district on Friday and Saturday.
An earthquake of 2.6 magnitude was also recorded in the Koyna dam region of Maharashtra's Satara district on Monday morning. No loss of life or property was reported, the official from the district administration said.
"The 2.6 magnitude quake occurred at 7.55 am and its epicentre was 14 km from the Koyna dam," he said.
An earthquake of the same magnitude hit the Koyna dam region last Tuesday.
Palghar district, especially its Dahanu and Talasari tehsils, has been witnessing low to moderate intensity earthquakes since November 2018.

On the other hand, mild tremors hit Palgarh in Maharashtra on September 5, the first earthquake of 4.0 magnitude was felt in Dahanu tehsil at 11.41 pm, while the second one of 3.6 magnitude was recorded at 12.05 am in Talasari tehsil, chief of Palghar district disaster control cell Vivekanand Kadam said.
