Raigad(Maharashtra): A resident of the Kharghar city here has become the talk of the town for rearing honeybees in his house.
Beekeeping has been a part of people's business ventures for a very long time, but Dr Swapnil Chaudhary's strange hobby is a topic of amusement for people.
The bees being reared in his house are left out every morning for swarming on flowers. These bees have also begun to breed and are increasing in numbers as days are passing by.
Witnessing bees around her since a very long time now, Dr Chaudhary's little daughter has also befriended them.
The concept of 'Bee Cities' was initially introduced in Kharghar by Dr Yuvraj Kaginkar. While the concept was widely popular in countries like the US, Germany and Britain, it was new to people in Kharghar.
Dr Kaginkar, therefore, took an initiative to promote domestic beekeeping activities in Kharghar.
Apart from the project receiving a whole lot of appreciation, people are particularly amazed by the easy access to unadulterated honey.
Beekeeping as an activity is an easy attempt at maintaining a balance in nature.
