Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil on Tuesday said that the state's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has issued a notice to former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on the allegations of corruption. The matter is currently under investigation and strict actions will be taken against all the culprits, said the Maharashtra Home Minister.
"An inquiry notice has been issued to all the accused in the case including Parambir Singh and a probe is underway. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against each one of them," said Walse-Patil. He made the statement while briefing media after a presser of the Nationalist Congress Party was held in Mumbai earlier in the day.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are also probing Singh's in the alleged corruption and money laundering case against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Param Bir Singh, in his letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, had alleged that Deshmukh had indulged in 'malpractices' and asked suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze to collect Rs 100 crores every month.
Earlier in the month, the Maharashtra government approved the ACB for opening an inquiry into allegations of corruption against Param Bir Singh for demanding Rs 2 crore to reinstate police officer Anup Dange, who was suspended by the former during his tenure.

On July 23, a case of extortion was registered against Param Bir Singh at Kopari Police Station in Thane City Police Commissionerate. This is the second case of extortion in which Param Bir Singh has been named after an FIR was registered against him at Marine Drive Police Station. Singh has been made a witness in the Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiren death case also.
