Aurangabad (Maharashtra): The Covid-19 cases have reached their maximum in the last two months in Maharashtra, which includes pregnant women as well. Now the question arises that does the virus affect the baby in the womb of the Covid positive mother?
A revealing figure from Ghati hospital in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra says that 99% of newly born children of Corona positive mothers are safe.
According to the data of the hospital, 292 pregnant women from Aurangabad district and 66 women from other districts were treated in the hospital since April 2020. In which most of them were 6-7 months pregnant and Covid-positive. From April 2020 to 2021 a total of 357 seven Corona positive women were treated at Ghati hospital, out of these 197 women delivered their babies at Ghati hospital.

As per the Doctors, it is important for a pregnant virus-positive woman to get herself checked in time if the symptoms are seen so that they can get timely treatment, which is important both for the baby and the mother. And, even if the pregnant women tested positive for Covid they need not panic in such a situation.

The data of the hospital gave a sigh of relief to the pregnant women, as 99% of newly born children of Corona positive women who delivered at Ghati hospital are safe and not affected by Covid. Out of 197 Corona-positive women who delivered at Ghati hospital, 138 mothers delivered naturally while 59 Cesarean operations were conducted. In which only three newborns tested positive for Covid after the fifth day of their birth. Due to high fever and delay in seeking medical assistance these newborns could not be saved.
