Palghar: Eleven people accused in the Palghar lynching case have tested positive for Coronavirus.
The swabs of eleven accused were taken on 13 June. According to Wada medical officer Sanjay Burpule, all the eleven accused are found to be coronavirus positive.
The accused have been remanded in judicial custody but lodged in various police lock-ups as work is going on at Palghar jail, said an officer attached to Palghar police station.
Out of the 26 new coronavirus cases, 11 are from Wada, 12 from Javhar, 1 from Dahanu and 2 from Palghar. These include 3 women and 23 men. According to the latest data released by the district administration, the total number of Covid-19 patients in the district reached 434 as on Tuesday morning.
Tahsildar Uddhav Kadam said that, since Wada police station and Tahsil office are in the same area, Tahsil office will be closed for two days and work will be continued from the office of resident deputy collector.
According to the information given by the Health Department, a worker in Blue Star company in Palghar had tested coronavirus positive. Swabs of eleven persons in his contact have been taken for testing.
