Mandla(Madhya Pradesh): Most of the villages and cities in the country today are often seen buried under toxic and harmful plastic wastes. Despite knowing and being aware of the ills of using plastic, we still use it and are advancing towards a world that will be devoid of crops on lands, water in the rivers and will just have an earth that is being crushed under a plastic demon.

A recent survey revealed that the amount of single-use plastic currently lying discarded in the world was enough to cover the entire surface of the earth thrice. The earth does not have enough pressure and temperature required to disintegrate plastic, which results in the plastic remaining in its original state for thousands of years.

Shyam Bairagi's new song creates awareness about the evils of plastic.

Seeing the environmental hazards caused by single-use plastic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now urged the citizens to stop the use of plastic. Inspired by this, singer and songwriter from Mandala district in Madhya Pradesh, Shyam Bairagi, has penned down and given his voice to a song titled ' Gaadi Wala Aya Ghar Se Kachra Nikal'. Explaining about the evils of plastic in his song, Bairagi urges the people to bid a permanent goodbye to plastic.

Who is Shyam Bairagi?

Shyam Bairagi, a resident of village Indri in the Mandla district, is a primary school teacher by profession. The start of his musical journey was in the regional languages and dialects, and he has penned over 36 songs so far.

All his songs explain and create awareness about various government schemes and campaigns as well as about the diseases prevalent in villages.

Although Bairagi has written and sung many songs, his song 'Gaadi Wala Aaya Ghar Se Kachra Nikal' is by far the most famous and widely accepted song in not just Chattisgarh but the entire country, and the song is played during the morning waste collection.

It was this song that helped Bairagi become a part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations in Gujarat which was attended by Narendra Modi as well as other cleanliness enthusiasts from across the country. Shyam penned down 'Plastic Tata Tata, Plastic Bye Bye' after this event.

Shyam Bairagi says that plastic is harmful to everyone and everything, animals and humans and earth alike. If a war against plastic is not declared now, it won't be long before people fight for mere inches of clean land.
