Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): What could be more pathetic if one has to pull a bullock cart without taking the help of bulls in such a scorching heat in order to reach Shipra river to immerse the ashes of their loved ones.
The family with four members were proceeding towards Shipra from Ujjain, taking all the pieces of stuff on a cart.
ETV Bharat correspondent interacted to the nomad family who has been marching towards river Shipra to immerse the ashes of the deceased family members.
"My brother and sister had left us two months ago after suffering from prolonged kidney ailments. We want to immerse their ashes in the Shipra river but due to nationwide lockdown, we kept the ashes of our loved ones in a bag", said Sunil, a 22-year-old man who was pulling the cart in the scorching heat.
Sunil further said that he had two bulls which he sold in order to cremate the dead bodies of his brother and sister.
"We had two bulls which we had to sell to cremate my brother and sister. Now, we are urging the government to help us as we don't have any work to earn our livelihood" added Sunil.
When asked about the incident to the mother of the deceased, she said that her husband had left her and married another woman a year ago. Since then, she has been living with her three sons and two daughters.
"We don't have any house to stay in. Therefore, we are always changing our places, according to the work. The novel coronavirus has left us with 'no option'. No villagers allow us to enter into their village due to the fear of the spread of the deadly virus. I had lost my two kids during the lockdown. Now, we are moving to Shipra to immerse the ashes of my children", said the mother of the deceased.
