Indore: Just days after the arrest of five women and a man, for their alleged involvement in the honey trap ring targeting politicians and government officials in Madhya Pradesh, one of the accused on Wednesday has filed a case of human trafficking against the gang.
According to reports, the father of one of the accused woman has filed a complaint on charges of blackmail, and the police have started the investigation.
The family of the 19-year-old accused has stated that she was forcefully inducted into the gang on the pretext of studies.
The woman from Rajgarh was taken by the Indore police to her village, where she accused some women of implicating her and claimed that she was blameless and forced to commit wrong acts.
The racket was allegedly operated by a 48-year-old woman who ran an NGO, as a cover to lure a woman into the ring.
Meanwhile, the Senior Superintendent of Police Ruchivardhan Singh has said that accused belongs to modest family background and came in contact with the gang very recently.
"She was lured into the gang with money. She was later exploited by the gang," She said.
"The accused want investigation into the case of human trafficking," she added.
The honey-trapping ring was busted by the Indore police after IMC engineer approached the police with a complaint of being blackmailed by a gang.
As per the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, only those government servants( including Ministers) could be charged who have granted out-of-turn contracts or funds from the treasury to the sex-blackmail syndicates.
Participation in illicit sexual activities does not attract sections of the Corruption Act, though action can be taken under Service Conduct rules.
