MP hospital hands Covid patient's body to wrong family

In a body mix up in Indore a family collected the body of a Covid patient without protecting measures and travelled for 80 kilometres before it was informed of the confusion.

Khandwa: The body of a businessman was mixed up with a Covid-19 patient's remains at a private hospital in Indore of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

The businessman's family had collected the wrong body and travelled over 80 kilometres when it was informed about the confusion.

Gendalal Rathore, a resident of Khandwa, was admitted four days back in Greater Kailash Hospital for treatment of lung cancer.

Reportedly, the family members were informed on Friday night about the worsening health condition of Rathore and he died within few hours after developing an infection.

The body was handed over without protective measures triggering concern that it could have infected many while being transported.
