Balaghat (MP): An encounter broke out between the police and Naxals at Kosamdehi under the Bahela police station limits in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district on Monday.
According to sources, around 10-15 Naxals had camped in Kosamdehi forest and more than 100 rounds of firing was done from both sides in the encounter.
It was speculated that one Naxal was injured in the encounter although police officials did not confirm it, added sources.
Speaking to media, Abhishek Tiwari, Superintendent of police (SP), said, "The encounter took place between police and Naxals. They first opened fire on police and we retaliated to that."
He further said that police seized few items of Naxals and no one was injured in the encounter.
