Ujjain/Sagar (MP): As many as 55 patients of black fungus who were undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ujjain allegedly developed a reaction after hospital staff administered Amphotericin B Lipid complex to them on Thursday.

As per reports, patients and their relatives alleged that the hospital staff administered Amphotericin B Lipid complex to them instead of Lycoconazole. As a result, the affected patients developed complaints ranging from cold, fever, tremors and vomiting. "Before this, at least 4 Lycoconazole injections were administered to the patients. Their condition worsened only after they were administered Amphotericin B Lipid complex," said a relative of the patient.

The relatives of the patients also said that doctors denied that side effects occurred due to the injection. However, no official statement has been made by the hospital's administration.
