Hospital staff held for illegally selling Remdesivir

Police have arrested a staff of JK Hospital for hoarding and black marketing vials of Remdesivir injections. The accused has been identified as Jhalkan. The accused was black-marketing Remdesivir injections with another hospital nurse, identified as Shalini Verma.

Bhopal: Police have arrested a staff of JK Hospital in Bhopal for hoarding and black marketing vials of Remdesivir injections. The person has been identified as Jhalkan. He was black-marketing Remdesivir injections with another hospital nurse, identified as Shalini Verma.

Nurse Shalini Verma is accused of removing the vials of Remdesivir injections meant for the critical Covid patients in the hospital and along with Jhalkan, was selling them illegally for an exorbitant amount of Rs 20,000 per dose.

The duo also sold Remdesivir injection to a doctor working in the same hospital. The doctor filed a police complaint following the online payment. The Bhopal Police based on his report filed a case and arrested the accused, Jhalkan. Later, during the investigation, the hospital staff admitted to all charges and also revealed the name of Shalini Verma, the nurse involved in the case.
