Jabalpur: Bharat Forge Limited has become the first private sector company to test its artillery guns at the LPR (Long Proof Range) of Ordnance Factory Khamaria in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
Bharat Forge's tested two new artillery guns - 105 mm Garuda V2 and 155/39 mm Ultra Light Weight Gun. The guns were fired and tested at the Long Proof Range, which tested newly inducted Indian artillery guns like Dhanush and Sarang. These weapons have been successfully tested in the testing range and will continue their development before being available for procurement by the Indian Army. Indian Army needs several more artillery regiments under the ongoing 'Field Artillery Rationalisation Plan' (FARP).

The opening up of the government-owned test facilities will encourage the private sector to participate in several new defence projects and strengthening the country's defence manufacturing. This will also allow the government-owned factory boards to raise additional revenues.

Garuda V-2 105mm Gun

155/39 MM Ultra Light Weight Gun
- 155/39mm calibre can hit any target with ease.
- Fully indigenously designed and developed for deployment in hilly terrain.
- It is lightweight enough to be transported easily over inaccessible areas.
