Khargone (Madhya Pradesh): With globalization impacting cultural exchange across the world, an American couple got inspired by the Bhagvad Gita and decided to marry as per Indian traditions in the Khargone district here.
The couple- Alexander and Elena's guru (spiritual teacher) Shyamsundar Mahajan called this wedding an influence of Hindu religion on Western culture.
They both after visiting an Iskcon temple in America, got inspired by the teachings of the Bhagvad Gita and decided to adopt Hinduism as their religion.
Alexander and Elena had been living in a live-in relationship for years after finally deciding to get married.
The couple took great interest in the life and teachings of Lord Krishna and were inspired by the portrayal of various concepts in the Indian culture. It was this interest that motivated them towards taking this crucial step.
With this new development, groom Alexander was given the name 'Ramdas' by their Guru Shyamsundar Mahajan.
