127 new COVID-19 cases in Indore, MP tally reaches 757

Indore, an emerging hotspot for novel coronavirus, has reported 127 fresh cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the toll 544 in the city. With three deaths, the death toll of COVID-19 patients in the state also reached 53.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): With 127 people testing positive on Wednesday morning, the number of coronavirus cases in Indore climbed to 544, health officials confirmed to ETV Bharat.

Indore, an emerging hotspot for novel coronavirus, has reported 62 cases on Tuesday, making the condition miserable for the government.

According to the reports, the state government has sent a sample of 1,142 people to Central Lab, Noida on Tuesday evening for further testing of COVID-19 patients.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Indore collector Manish Singh said, "We have sent a sample of more than 1,100 people for testing. Among them, 127 people tested corona positive."

The Collector further added that the government has established isolation wards, having more than 800 beds.

He also urged the citizens to follow the lockdown guidelines in order to break the chain of the deadly virus.

Since Monday evening, two COVID-19 patients died in Indore while one person succumbed in Bhopal, officials said.

Sixteen new cases were reported in Bhopal, which took the tally of COVID-19 patients in the state capital to 158.

Six persons have died in Ujjain, three in Khargone, one each in Chhindwara and Dewas. So far 64 patients have recovered and returned home, the officials said.
