Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s Health Minister KK Shailaja has been chosen as the Vogue India Leader of the Year, said actor Dulquer Salman while declaring the Vogue India Woman of the year awards.
Dulquer Salman said Minister Shailaja is the pride, not just for Kerala, but for the whole country. Dulquer announced the award through a video shared on the Facebook for Vogue India.
The women who influence people and make remarkable contributions in different fields are selected for the Vogue Magazine’s Women of the year awards.
Vogue India, a fashion and lifestyle magazine, had also featured Minister K.K. Shailaja on their cover in their recent edition published in India.
Minister K.K. Shailaja said that she dedicates the award to all the health workers who had joined hands in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, right from the officials to the field workers in the health sector. Nurse Reshma Mohandas has also been chosen as one of the awardees. She is the Vogue India Warrior of the Year, among other awardees Dr Kamala Rammohan, Pilot Swathi Rawal and Ritcha Sreevastava Chabra.

Media from all over the world had published reports and analytical articles on Kerala Health Department’s work pattern in COVID prevention and COVID care. Health Minister K.K. Shailaja had also participated in a United Nations’ Panel discussion.
It was Minister Shailaja, who took control of the situation and showed Kerala a survival model when there was a deadly Nipah virus outbreak in a Northern district of the State, two years ago.
