Kerala: The Travancore Devaswom Board has banned the functioning of RSS branches (Shakha), which conducts physical training or mass drill on the premises of the temples under the administration. The Board has issued a circular in this regard.

The circular has been issued by the Travancore Devaswom Board Commissioner and the ban on the RSS branch will apply to 1240 temples under the Travancore Devaswom Board administration.

The circular issued by Devaswom Commissioner says it is a matter of serious concern that some officers are facilitating such illegal activities on the temple premises. According to the circular, the temple staff has been directed to take steps to prevent any branch activity or mass drill in the temple premises.

In case of any activity, the Commissioner's Office should be informed immediately. The order warned of stringent action against officers who fail to curb RSS activities on temple premises.
