Pathanamthitta (Kerala): Days after black magic horror in Kerala, the Pathanamthitta district saw two women being beheaded and their bodies mutilated by an occult practitioner, a woman from the same district who was arrested on Thursday after locals alleged her involvement in black magic-based rituals using children.
Following the arrests of the accused, identified as Shobhana alias Vasanti (45) and her aide Unnikrishnan (35), locals in Malayalapuzha, a town where the two had set up a camp, further noted that the former used foul language at anyone visiting, or venturing nearby her center while donning Bermuda shorts when she was 'possessed'. Deputy Superintendent of Police in Pathanamthitta, S Nandakumar confirmed the arrests.
"We are demanding a detailed investigation into the matter. There had been several suspicious activities going on in the center. Whenever people tried to question her, she used goons to attack them and even threatened to eliminate those who talked against her. She also used to curse people saying that if anyone opposed her they would die within 41 days," Vineeth Vasudevan, DYFI Malayalappuzha zonal president said.

The locals told ETV Bharat that many children, including girls, were brought to the center regularly, in effect, raising suspicion of ongoing immoral activities. Several residents, meanwhile, said they feared the worst, bringing to notice the recent human sacrifice cases.
"Earlier, two men used to stay with this woman. They have been missing for a long time. After the human sacrifice case came out in Elanthur, we suspect that something unfortunate could have happened to those men as well. Police need to investigate all this," local resident Hari Shyam said.
The clip of Vasanti, which has gone viral, displays her making faces at a boy who subsequently becomes unconscious. Speaking about the issue, BJP Malayalapuzha Panchayat President Prashant P Nair said that it was public knowledge that the woman in question was 'abusive'. "She has been working here for the last seven years or so. She was always abusive. Since she was a woman, we restrained ourselves," he stated.
