Sabarimala: Sabarimala Ayyappa Sewa Samadhan (SASS) on Tuesday has decided to submit an 18 point charter of demands to political parties and candidates contesting in the upcoming general elections.
In 2008, SASS came into existence to serve the devotees visiting Sabarimala and has now expanded to 15 states in the country.
The Sewa Samajam has demanded political parties to protect and keep the old age traditions in all the temples.
SASS has appealed to the devotees to give votes to those political parties only who support their demands in the charter to save Sabarimala and protect temples and Hindu religion in the country.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, the general secretary of Sabarimala Ayyappa Sewa Samajam, Erode N. Rajan said," Ayyappa devotees constitute more than 20 crore voters across the country and the recent controversies will affect the voting pattern in general elections as well."
