Kannur: In a shocking incident, two minor sisters were sexually abused by their relative at Pariyaram in Kerala's district.
The victims are aged 13 and 16 and the incident happened at their house.
The Pariyaram police have arrested two persons, the mother of the children and a 54-year-old man who is a relative of the girls.
The mother was arrested for supporting the man in the crime. Both were booked under the POCSO Act.
As per reports, the sisters have been abused by the man from 2016. They were subjected to sexual exploitation even on July 28, 2020.
The parents of the two sisters are separated due to family issues. The man who is the uncle of the girls' mother has been abusing them since then.
The accused were produced before the court and shifted to COVID observation centre, police said.
