Kollam: In a bid to fight COVID-19, a woman from Kottarakkara in Kerala has been making washable face masks and distributing it for free. She has produced 500 cloth-made masks in just two days.
Shanifa is a tailor by profession and has been stitching and distributing masks in her region for free. She came to know about the shortage of masks across the state and decided to contribute towards the precautionary measure through her profession.

Besides, four members in her family, many locals have been supporting Shanifa for the noble cause. Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) extended its help and immense support. Furthermore, the face masks are being distributed for free at the district hospital and bus stand premises with the help of DYFI members.
On the other hand, total number of COVID-19 cases in India stood at 271 with five fatalities whereas Kerala so far has reported 40 positive cases.
