Kochi: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly burned to death in Kerala's Kakkanad region in Ernakulam, for allegedly refusing to marry him. According to reports, the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday. The stalker reportedly committed suicide following the incident.
The victim's father tried to save her and has sustained serious burn injuries. He was admitted to the Government Medical College for treatment.
The neighbours rushed into her house after hearing cries. They said that the stalker barged into the house, poured petrol and set her ablaze.
According to the eyewitnesses, Midhun had already poured petrol on himself before breaking into the house.
Besides, reports claim that Midhun was stalking the girl for many years now and had expressed his love. He even had an argument with the victim's mother, after she turned down his request.
This is the fourth such incident from the state this year and the police have started the investigation.
