Kerala introduces 'water bell' to ensure students stay hydrated

All schools in Cheruvathur panchayath have installed a water bell, an initiative to cultivate a healthy habit of drinking water at regular intervals. The schools reportedly have to ensure toilets and other facilities are clean and functional to make the initiative a success.

Kasargod: All schools in Kasargod's Cheruvathur panchayath have installed a 'water bell', a symbolic way to give regular intervals to students to drink water and stay hydrated. According to reports, the initiative is aimed at combating dehydration among students in the extreme weather condition and to develop a healthy habit of drinking water.

The 'water bell' rings thrice in a working day, as the school authorities noticed that most students are reluctant to drink water even if the parents compel them to carry a bottle every day. The Water Bell scheme has covered in every school in the Cheruvathur Panchayat, whereas in Valiyaparambu village panchayat, the primary health center is steering the project ahead.

The authorities claimed that many doctors have pointed out that a number of urinary infection cases were on the rise among children.

Kasargod: All schools from Kasargod began to gong, pausing for an interval to drink water. To prevent dehydration in the extreme temperature aswellas to improve drinking water habits in children, the Cheruvathoor authorities have imparted 'Water Bell' Scheme in schools. As the 'Water Bell' rings thrice in a working day, the students then no longer to carry with drouth mouth. 

The students hardly drinks even if they have been sent with bottle water from home. In order to foster a healthy tomorrow, the idea of Water bell began from the young generation. The project would also uplift the value of drinking water at regular interval, thereby make the students to remember in taking water enough to their health. 

The Water Bell scheme has coveredup in every schools in the Cheruvathoor Panchayat, whereas in Valiyaparambu village panchayat, the primary health center steer the project.
