Ernakulam: The Kerala High Court has sought an explanation from the Central Government over a petition challenging the controversial decisions of Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel.
Considering the PIL, the court declined to stay the operation of Lakshadweep Development Authority Regulation 2021 (LDAR) and the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) and directed the Centre to respond within two weeks.

The court rejected the KPCC secretary Noushad Ali's request to direct the Lakshadweep administration not to implement the new reforms.
Ali opposed the Lakshadweep administration's move to introduce LDAR and the PASA on the island.
As the row over new orders in Lakshadweep continues, Lakshadweep Collector Asker Ali defended the laws imposed by Administrator Praful Khoda Patel and blamed people with vested interests for carrying out self-motivated propaganda.
