Kerala: COVID negative report must to attend event

During a high-level meeting headed by the chief secretary, it was decided that the duration of public events will be limited to two hours. Only 200 persons will be allowed to participate in events held in open spaces while only 100 people can attend events organised in closed rooms.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): With Kerala once again reporting a surge in COVID-19 cases, the government has decided to intensify restrictions all over the state.

During a high-level meeting headed by the chief secretary, it was decided that the duration of public events will be limited to two hours. Only 200 persons will be allowed to participate in events held in open spaces while only 100 people can attend events organised in closed rooms.

People attending the events need to be tested negative in the RT-PCR test. Alternatively, they can attend the event provided they complete 14 days post receiving the second dose of COVID vaccine.

The government also directed that serving lunch in public functions should be avoided, instead, food packets be given to the participants. Hotels and shops will be allowed to open only till 9 pm. Wearing of masks and social distance in public will be strictly monitored.

The government said it will expedite the vaccination drive once it receives an adequate amount of vials from the Centre.
